My story.

My passion for women’s health stems from many of my own experiences. As a mother, and woman in perimenopause, I understand what it’s like to be in this stage of life! We expect a lot of ourselves and a lot is expected of us. We’re hard-wired to be resilient and roll with the punches but hormonal changes mean that we’re swimming in a new “hormonal soup’ by the time we’re in our 40s (at the latest!) that can make coping with change more difficult than it’s ever been. Add kids, work, aging parents, and other stressors into the soup and it’s easy to see how it can be overwhelming.

Experiencing these symptoms first- hand allows me to help women using my personal experience, alongside my training and experience as a naturopathic doctor and registered dietitian.

Have you noticed that one of the biggest challenges many women face in this transition is the new and unfamiliar body changes? It can be hard to understand why “nothing is working” and weight gain seems inevitable. Like so many women, I began dieting at a young age and went on to become a “professional dieter”. I longed to see the “thin ideal” staring back at me in the mirror for most of my adult years. But despite doing all the “right” things, exercising, trying every new diet, AND getting two degrees related to nutrition, my body fought back.

Thankfully the seeds of “intuitive eating” were planted somewhere along the way and I began making small shifts in how I responded to my body’s needs. I no longer wanted to push my body to its limits, I wanted to nurture it to its best. And I want to help you do the same!

Born and raised in the Atlantic provinces of Canada, I’m a Mom to 3 kids (including a set of twins) and love my cats almost as much as my kids.
